  • Dr. Michael H. Gotchey, DVM

Dr. Gotchey was born in October 1950. He spent some time around Steamboat Springs working for Pat Mantle at the Sombrero Ranches, then enlisted in the Navy and spent 4 years as a Navy SEAL. After his service to our country he returned to Steamboat Springs and worked at the mines for several years. While in Florida, he became accredited in Acupuncture. He then returned to Steamboat Springs and is now a senior partner in the Steamboat Veterinary Hospital where he has practiced both small and large animal medicine, surgery, and alternative care since 1991.

  • Dr. Nate Daughenbaugh, DVM

I was born and raised in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. After graduating High School in 1993, I enlisted in the Marine Corps and proudly served 4 years. Following my honorable discharge, I attended Colorado State University to study Microbiology. In 2002, I was accepted into CSU Veterinary Medicine Program and awarded a full-ride scholarship from the US Army. Upon graduation in 2006, I was commissioned as a Captain in the US Army Veterinary Corps and served for 3 years as a veterinarian. I was privileged to be stationed in San Diego with the US Navy Marine Mammal Program where I provided medical care to dolphins and sea lions. After my second honorable discharge in 2009, I returned to my hometown and began practicing at Steamboat Veterinary Hospital. I am currently one of the owners of SVH and enjoy working with an incredible team of people dedicated to providing high quality, compassionate care to all your pets and livestock.

I consider myself blessed to live here and be a part of this wonderful community. When I am not at the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my amazing wife and 2 beautiful daughters. We live on a small ranch west of town that requires constant attention (a labor of love). We have dogs, cats, chicken, horses and countless projects that need our attention. Any “extra” time I have is spent enjoying one of my hobbies. I love skiing, fly-fishing and I’m the head instructor of Steamboat Springs Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I have been training jiu-jitsu since 2006 and hold the rank of Black Belt.
